JASON BARNES (NC) & ERICA BERG (MN) have a fun style full of long beautiful lines and shames. They began their dance partnership in 2003. They currently compete on the National Swing Dance Circuit in the Classic Swing division. Since 2005, they have finished in the top 6 on the NASDE tour each year and have shared numerous titles together, including 2004 U.S. Open Swing Dance champions in the Teams division with the Midwest Rebels Swing Dance team. They are 6-time finalists in the Classic Division at the U.S. Open as well. Jason and Erica truly love dancing and teaching together. champions and hold numerous other competition titles in west coast swing,
hand dance, fast dance & jitterbug. Some of their other titles include
that Tammy has been a US Open All Star Jack & Jill finalist and Kevin is a U
S Open Advanced Strictly Swing Champion. |

TYBALT & HAZEL ULRICH (NYC) are known for bringing power and subtlety to many dances, and showcasing regional varieties of swing- West Coast Swing. They are full-time dance instructors in the NYC area. They are 2 time World Hustle Champions, and have each won Invitational Jack and Jills in WCS and Hustle, often placing high in WCS Classic, Hustle, Cabaret, and Triple Threat (hustle/salsa/WCS) divisions. JOE KERNER & STEPHANIE RISSER ( PA) have been the couple to
beat in the past couple years since joining forces in Hustle. With a
combined back ground that includes Cecchetti Method of ballet, modern, jazz,
tap and ballroom prior to Hustle it should come as no surprise that they
have dominated the scene. Stephanie has won 2nd place at Disco
America, 1st place at Dance America Seattle and 3rd place in the Van McCoy
Professional World Open Hustle Championships. As a couple they have
been finalists and winners in the Open Hustle Contest at MADjam in 2008 and
2009 they have won at the International Hustle and Salsa Competition, Disco
America and others. |
![]() ERIK & ANNA NOVOA (CT) have worked hard to develop and maintain West Coast Swing and Hustle at some of New York City's major dance studios. Erik has been teaching and competing in Hustle and West Coast Swing since the mid 90's. He is a 2 time national Hustle champion and finalist on ABC's 2003 revival of Dance Fever. Erik has won 1st Place in the Professional Classic division at MADjam, Pacific Hustle & Salsa Dance Classic and Hustle USA in past years. He has extensive training in ballet, jazz, tap and musical theater. Anna uses the discipline of classical ballet with the creativity of partner dancing. She trained and performed with Minnesota Dance Theatre & School and Minnetonka Dance Theatre. She has also competed in ballroom and Latin while at University of Wisconsin-Madison. |

JENNIFER
DELUCA (FL) began dancing at the age of five in
ballet and jazz under the Royal Academy syllabus. She continued until the
age of 13 when she was invited to join a college level ballroom dance team,
competing and performing throughout Florida. She began learning and
competing in West Coast Swing at the age of 15 - winning first place at her
first national competition in the Intermediate level. Shortly thereafter,
she was selected to perform as a featured dancer in the short film, "The
Marionette."After completing her studies in hospitality, Jennifer started her own company, Floor On Fire, Inc. in Orlando at the age of 21. Floor On Fire holds multiple annual contracts with area resorts for weekly ballroom dance classes for their guests, taught by one of three teachers on staff. Jennifer with her partner, Michael most recently placed 2nd on the NASDE tour(National Association of Swing Dance Events). |

JOHN FESTA (NYC) has been around swing dancing all his life. Born into a New York-based family where dancing was vital, he was taught Lindy Hop at an early age. After pursuing a career in ballet, John rediscovered Lindy Hop in a burgeoning swing scene of NYC in the mid-80’s. It was at his first swing weekend that John was introduced to West Coast Swing. What was most attractive was the diversity of music. John quickly became a pivotal figure in both the national and local West Coast Swing worlds. He competes, judges and teaches and one of the top DJ’s, playing music for many of the top swing events throughout the country. |

BARRY DURAND (MD) has been an innovative figure in Swing for many years. He began teaching in AZ and CA in the early 80's and helped expand social dancing in the southwest. He moved to the DC area in 1984, established the "Dance West" team that went undefeated on the country circuit for 7 years and won 2 US Open championships. Barry holds 2 US Open Showcase titles Cabaret titles plus was a finalist in this category again in 2009 after many years absent from competition. He also received the Humanitarian award. He was Country Dance World Champion in 1993 and won the world championship title for Line Dance Choreography. Barry hosts the Swing Fling, Easterns Dance Challenge and VSO dance weekends. |

BILLY MARTI (NYC) is passionate about dancing
and teaching. He works at stepping out
studios in Manhattan. He started dancing at 18 and quickly mastered the fundamentals of dancein
both solo dance such as ballet and partnered. He has performed in
Israel as a “Fame” and has appeared in
film and TV productions such as ”Funny Valentine,” “Alphabet City,” “WB11
Morning News,” and “FOX 5 News” backing Marc Anthony. Later Billy was
inspired while watching a competition in a nightclub where he discovered
his new love for Hustle Theatre Arts. He met Wanda Soto who began teaching
him in the art of partnering and soon began dancing and performing with
Hustle’s elite dancers of the time. He takes great pride in his ability to thoroughly prepare
students for showcase and dance competitions by articulating a music and
choreography mix that enhances the student’s individual style, and thus
complementing their strengths. |

is the top of the top in Hand Dance nation
wide. He is a Hand Dance Champion and teacher of 1000's in the
DC area. Brad founded the Smooth&EZ
dance school which offers group classes at many locations and hosts many
dance activities including the

BETH DARCHI (NYC) has an extensive repertoire in Ballet,
Jazz, and Ballroom. She taught hustle workshops for the NY Julliard School
of Dance, Lincoln Center Swing Fest and was assistant instructor for the
stage production of "Saturday Night Fever" in the National Theater, Santo
Domingo. As a performer she has been part in many Theatrical numbers. In
2009 she received the Arte Phillips Lifetime Achievement Award.

(CA) Helen Tocco began her West Coast Swing DJing career in Washington, DC
in 2004 and has since relocated to Los Angeles, CA. Her soulful yet upbeat
mix has been heard at events such as the US Open, MADjam, Chico Dance
Sensation, the Easterns Dance Challenge, Jack and Jill O’rama, Lindy and
Party Dance Weekend, Monterey Swingfest, Reno Dance Sensation, Swing Diego,
Swing Fling, the Virginia State Open, and Palm Springs Summer and New Year’s
Dance Camps. Helen is excited to return to MADjam for her 4th year to keep

(NY) Has been winning dance contests since she was 6 years old. She is a 6

most improved dancer. Following that series she toured the US, performing
nightly. She is now training for international competition with a new Latin
partner and continues to lend her talents to swing dance conventions. |

JOHN LINDO (NJ) John began dancing in 1992 with Country Western and line dancing. He quickly moved into West Coast Swing and garnered more than his share of awards and championships. Some of his First Place awards include the US Open, Grand Nationals, Phoenix Champions of Champions, and the North Atlantic All Star Division. He received the Entertainer of the Year award at the USA Grand Nationals in 2001.
